Why Is Preventative Botox Our Best Skincare Secret?

Have you ever wondered how certain people’s faces appear to age so slowly? It’s almost like they’ve stumbled upon the fountain of youth!

Okay, maybe some of them are just blessed with good genes and/or they were religiously following the right skin care regimen. But most of us also get by with a little bit of help!

We’re talking about preventative Botox. Done correctly, preventative Botox can help you fight the early signs of aging – while still preserving a wide range of expressions so you don’t look overdone or frozen.

More About Botox

Active wrinkles tend to form in places that crease when we smile, frown, laugh, or make other such facial expressions. Over time, these lines and creases end up getting etched on our faces.

Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to your facial muscles, considerably reducing their ability to contract (but still allowing you to move your face – only if it’s done by a trained and experienced injector, of course).

This relaxes the skin and smooths existing wrinkles, and as a bonus, also prevents new ones from forming.

What is the Best Age to Start Botox?

While most Botox patients are women over their 40s, there’s also a growing number of younger patients that get Botox to help delay the signs of aging – long before they even begin to form.

Botox is FDA approved for anybody over the age of 18, but some patients regularly get it during their mid-20s and 30s for “prejuvenation” – so that they can delay the development of premature wrinkles.

However, the right age for getting Botox varies from person to person, depending on factors like their skin type, the environment they’re in, and so on. Some people just have naturally strong facial muscles or expressions, so they may need to get an early start.

But it’s always best to consult a trained and experienced injector before you get anything done.

Baby Botox

Baby Botox is a preventative treatment that uses lesser doses of Botox to temporarily paralyze facial muscles responsible for wrinkle formation, and it is often regarded as the best approach to retain a well-rested, youthful glow without looking frozen or overdone.

Microdosing has been gaining popularity among younger patients who want to prevent wrinkles from forming. It can also be a great way for new patients to try out the treatment, especially if they don’t have deep lines or wrinkles just yet.

Baby Botox is also more affordable since it requires fewer units. However, bear in mind that the longevity of this type of Botox is shorter because you’re receiving less than the prescribed dose. So, you may need follow-up treatments more frequently (every one to two months vs. three to four months for regular doses) to maintain the results.

Finally, baby Botox is less effective on people with moderate to severe wrinkles. If the existing wrinkles are already quite deep and prominent, small doses simply won’t do!

Safety and Effectiveness

Botox is safe for cosmetic use and has been FDA-approved for years! Some patients may experience slight bruising and redness after treatment, but these will subside over time.

Do note that only experienced and trained injectors can administer the right dose of Botox in all the right places- giving you the best results in the safest way possible!

It’s Never Too Early to Start an Anti-Aging Regimen

Aside from maintaining a good skincare regimen, it’s best to consult with a trained and certified injector once you start to notice wrinkles and fine lines forming. Prevention is better than cure, right?
