The New Brotox: Why Men Are Loving “Naked Botox”

In a world where self-care and confidence are increasingly embraced by both men and women, there’s a growing phenomenon that has captured the attention of many – Brotox.

Once seen as primarily a treatment for women, Botox treatments and other cosmetic treatments are now becoming popular choices among men looking to enhance their appearance and boost their self-esteem – one such injectable that has gained even more traction lately is Xeomin (a.k.a. The “Naked Botox”).

In this article, we will explore how this non-invasive cosmetic procedure is changing the game for men, helping them achieve a more youthful and rejuvenated look while feeling their absolute best.

Let’s dive in!

What is Brotox?

Brotox (a play on words for Botox for men) may also include any injection that is made up of botulinum toxin.

Xeomin, is equally effective in temporarily relaxing the facial muscles and is a great option for men and women alike.

Some of the main concerns targeted include:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead
  • Crow’s feet lines (lines around the eyes)
  • Frown lines (also known as “11” lines)
  • Providing a lift to the brow area
  • Lip lines and contours

Xeomin is generally less expensive and may last longer compared to Botox, making it the more affordable yet effective option!

What Sets Xeomin Apart as The New Brotox?

Xeomin and Botox share many of the same goals and provide equally similar benefits. But they are not 100% the same.

While Botox has additive proteins to its formula, Xeomin is a purified form of botulinum toxin type A – hence its nickname (“The Naked Botox”). Given this purity, there’s a lower risk of allergic reactions; This also means there’s a smaller chance that your body will develop antibodies/resistance – which can prevent your desired effects.

Additionally, studies have shown that patients often see results sooner with Xeomin, sometimes as soon as five days (as opposed to Botox results, which usually take up to two weeks.)

And lastly, Xeomin treatments may last longer than Botox. While Botox’s effects usually run their course between 3-4 months, studies have shown that in some cases, Xeomin results can last up to six months. That said, every person’s body will metabolize the toxin differently – so results may vary, and maintenance appointments are ideal for optimal results.

Your Brotox Appointment

When booking your tox appointment, you’ll first sit down for a consultation with your injector.

During this consultation, your injector will take note of your medical history (to ensure Xeomin is safe for you) as well as seek to understand your goals for treatment.

You can expect the injection process to go as follows:

  1. Your provider may start by marking the injection areas for better visual aid.
  2. After cleansing the treatment area(s), your provider will inject a specific amount of botulinum toxin. This amount will be dependent on your concern areas and the level of toxin needed.
  3. Following treatment, you may be given an ice pack to help prevent any bruising or swelling in the area.

And that’s it! The actual injection process itself is quick and relatively painless – you can be finished in as little as 15 minutes.

While you may see results immediately following Xeomin injections, it typically takes the days following your appointment for the full effects to show.
